Steps: How To Turn An Image Into Oil Painting In Photoshop

Turning an image into an oil painting in Photoshop is easy. This can make your portraits look artistic and can even be used as wall decorations when printed and framed.

Here are the steps to convert any image into an oil painting using Photoshop’s Filter Gallery:

1.) Select Filter Gallery under the Filter tab

2.) Select Poster Edges and set its Posterization to the highest and click OK.

3.) Go back to the Filter tab from the menu bar and select Oil Paint… A window will pop up where you can adjust the Brush settings. Play around with the Stylization, Cleanliness, Scale, and Bristle Detail to get the brush effect that you want for the painting look. Once done, just click OK.

That’s it! The steps mentioned should be enough to make your image look like an oil painting.
