If you see the error “Another Update is Currently in Progress” after updating your WordPress website, that means your website has encountered an issue and WordPress has locked itself from continuing the update. You will need to fix this issue first and you can easily use a plugin to do this. But if you’ve already done that and you’re still getting the same error, you might need to lower you hosting’s PHP version in CPANEL before you can try again to update.
To change the PHP version, login to your CPANEL and look for the Software section. Select MultiPHP Manager.
Look for the domain that is affected and change its PHP version to the next lower one. After applying it, you may try again to update you WordPress Website.
DON’T FORGET to change the PHP back to the latest after successfully updating you website.
